We consider the establishment of a new home when Field Partners come recommended by pastors and other Christian contacts we know as being people of integrity and who already have a track record of undertaking care work for children in their locality.
We then undertake detailed research about the prospect and put it to prayer. Only after we are satisfied that there is a genuine need and commitment to the children in need, do we take steps to establish a new home.
Normally, we would require evidence of years of building rapport with the field partner as well as solid evidence that there would be support for the home by the local community and church to ensure its growth and success. A desire for sustainability also needs to be at the forefront of a partnership we enter into.
We tend to work with pastors and local churches that we have built a rapport with over the years and who exhibit genuine care for these children in need, and who can also offer them sound spiritual education as an extension to providing for their physical needs. New projects also need to be approved by ICARE according to its scope of operations.
