Devendra Singh
b. 05/05/98, Agra
After Devendra’s dad died of cancer when he was 3 years old, his mum remarried and abandoned her two boys. Devendra was left in the guardianship of his grandfather, however he never had the opportunity to go to school before he came into the care of RNCH Agra. He used to wander the fields around his home with the other villagers, herding goats and cows.
Devendra enjoys being in RNCH and going to school. To catch up on his education, he’s currently having home tutoring after school hours. He loves music, especially playing drums. Like many little boys, he likes electronic toys and cake!
Devendra also has a younger brother, Punkesh, who is still under the guardianship of his grandfather in the village because he is disabled by stunted growth due to a heart problem. He’s expected to be OK after surgery but for now, the grandfather chooses to keep him as he thinks the boy is too fragile to let out of his care. Punkesh also needs your prayers for him to get that surgery and the future he deserves.
