I was born and brought up in a Hindu family. My father was a Hindu priest (Pujari). People used to call him for worship. He prayed for them according to Hindu religion. I also used to join him many times whenever he was going to Hindu worship. In my very young age may father died. I was about 23 when my dad died and my mother died 4 years later. After this, it was my place to look after my family and so on. I started to do labour work to run my family. In 1976 the word of the Lord came to me through a Sadhu priest and this Sadhu gave me a songbook. There was a song that said “ Ao jag ke log sabhi yeshu raja bulata hai” (come all ye people of the world, King Jesus calls you) so I read this portion and began to think: “who is this King Jesus that is calling all the people of the world. I asked Sadhu and he helped me understand that the spirit of Lord had spoken to me. He told me to be ready on Sunday morning to go with him. On the Sunday he took me to a place which I saw for the first time in my life. It was full of people and all were sitting quietly hearing the person speaking from the front. He was sharing something about the loving God and all this touched my heart. I was very interested to go on every Sunday and to attend this fellowship. It changed my mind. I gave my life into the hands of Lord Jesus Christ. I was an “untouchable” in the caste system but I have been set free because I became a Christian. I took water baptism in 1978 and began to learn the word of God. I was a shoemaker and beside my work I used to go to distribute the gospel and on outreach. In 1992 I went on a cycle tour for 25 days and covered 1500 kms in North India. Again in 1994 I went on a scooter tour and in 40 days I covered 1700 kms in North – South India. After this I went on a scooter tour again and this was 25 days tour on the Hills of North India. The Lord used me in these different trips to preach His word. The Lord has blessed me with four children: Joseph, Jyotsna, Joyce and Jepson; my wife Premvati always helps me and support me. My eldest son Joseph is an Assistant Pastor with me, and helps in the ministry work. It’s my vision to fulfil His commandment to “go and preach the Word in the World”
