Vishal Kumar
Aged 8, Agra
Vishal, aged 8, recently joined us from the same poor village as our 9-year-old Devendra who arrived early this year. Robin’s Nest arranged for Devendra to visit his family for his birthday. The entire village was impressed with his progress since entering Robin’s Nest. When they saw how healthy and strong he’d grown, how he’d learned to read and write and how his character had developed so much, Vishal’s uncle requested desperately for Robin’s Nest to take his orphaned nephew who he wasn’t able to support. Now we only need to find a sponsor who will give him the hope that will motivate him to learn and grow. He’s an adorable and happy boy.
Vishal’s mum died when she fell down a well and his dad has subsequently remarried and is no longer caring for Vishal. When Vishal heard about RNCH, he went to Agra with his grandfather to ask if we’d consider caring for him. Following review of his situation, the team identified he was in genuine need of care and welcomed him to RNCH Agra. He had been living on meagre food and below the poverty line in his rural village, which also had no sanitation provision.
Vishal loves his new home and regularly attends school, where his favourite subject is maths. Outside of school, he likes playing ball. He hopes to one day become a police man.
