Robin's Nest Thanks you
The Robins

Sharon
Sharon Adenya
b.1999, Webuye.

Sharon has had more than most could bear in her brief 7 years. Her parents have both died of Aids and she was left in an abusive environment with relatives in which her frail and ageing grandmother was beaten regularly by Sharon’s alcoholic uncle. She lived a dismal life with little food and insufficient nutrition. At the time of being found, she had never left her home, had never heard music and didn’t know how to smile. Her house was grass-thatched with old sacks as mattresses and an old torn blanket for covering herself. Prior to being ‘inherited/owned’ by her uncle according to custom at her parents’ deaths, she literally stayed in her home and watched her parents die.

Thanks to the loving care of the RNCH house parents and the local church, she has since learned to smile and now has a reason to do so. She is enjoying being in Agape Academy school and received a B on her report card during her first year. And doesn’t she have the most gorgeous smile?

Since coming into the care of Robin’s Nest, she’s discovered she enjoys skipping rope, moulding and playing with dolls and balls. She’s particularly talented at singing and poem recitation. She has a composed and calm nature, is outgoing and teachable.
